We've been blessed with some gorgeous sunsets as of late... here are a few from Sunday evening!
California lovin'

Jennifer + Kevin
I was lucky enough to be a big part of Jen and Kevin's wedding on December 27th. I've learned a lot over years of shooting weddings but the tip I always share with brides is that when a wedding is handled by family; it ends up being completely STRESS FREE! I knew that it was going to be a stress free occasion when I arrived at the brides grandmothers house and her aunt's were sewing her veil, her friends were doing her hair and makeup and another member of the bridal party was making espresso's for everyone. The Ceremony was stunning and it was so sweet to see Jen's brother and Father perform the ceremony, there wasn't a dry eye in the place. Jen and Kevin had been battling visa issues up until the wedding but when the day finally arrived, it was flawless...
Enjoy the photos!
Meet the Fam...
People always ask for tips on how to prepare for photoshoots. What to wear, what to bring, how to act, etc. And I always tell clients the same tips:
1. Wear something that is "you", if it's a large group try to keep it neutral. Neutrals are timeless and these photos will last forever!
2. Bring options! Personally I wear glasses 50% percent of the time, so I wore them for a few shots, and took them off for a few as well.
3. Have fun with it! Don't be afraid to get silly! How often do you, and those closest to you get all dolled up and hang out for a few hours??? Enjoy it!
With that said, I'd like you all to meet my crazy family. The best way to learn more about someone is to know where they came from, go straight to the roots. They say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree; so without further delay, meet my lovely family!
My Dad, always in touch with the latest trends...decided that we needed to surprise Mom with a Flash Mob, the results were PRICELESS:
We had to throw in a few popular trends ourselves...
I have photographic proof that my parents are the most adorable couple...ever <3
(I'd also like to give a big thanks to my incredible boyfriend and second shooter Keith for snapping most of the shots, as well as the rest of the family who got involved and snapped a few of us!)
The Valentines
I love shooting with The Valentines, A: they are a beautiful family B: They have a rad last name and C: They always have creative ideas for their family shoot!
Enjoy the Photos!
The Schutzler Family
Lindsay and Lauren surprised their parents with a Family Photoshoot for Christmas, and I was happy to make the trek to Monterey for the occasion. They are the sweetest family and I had an absolute blast hiking all over Point Lobos shooting these portraits. It was extremely windy at times but these guys toughed it out and pulled it off! Such a fun idea for a Christmas present, props to the Schutzler girls for thinking of it...Enjoy the photos!
Lindsay + Bubba
I've gotta say it... I love working with athletic couples! Lindsay, Bubba and I hiked all over Point Lobos in Monterey, CA and Lindsay did half of the hike in HEELS. That is what I call dedication! Aside from their modeling skills Lindsay is a professional softball player and Bubba plays baseball professionally as well, these two are going to have some talented kids someday.
These two are so in love, it's really refreshing and makes my job a breeeeeze ... I cannot wait for their wedding, it is going to be absolutely gorgeous AND one hell of a party! Enjoy the photos!
Erica + Mike
The weather was off and on all week but when Erica and Mikes big day arrived the weather could not have been any better! The day was simply perfect; California glam at it's finest. Erica was absolutely radiant in her dress and every single detail of the day was executed to perfection. Erica and Mike are surrounded with so much love from each other and their families, I am privileged to have been such a big part of their wedding day. Enjoy the photos!
big thanks to Drew Dailey for being my second shooter for the day!
Sheila + Max
Happy Holidays!
Devon + Bud
You know that you are in for a good shoot when you plan on breaking a few laws along the way. We did a bit of trespassing, lit some fireworks and created a few parking spots of our own, but in the end; we didn't get caught and the results were pretty fabulous! Bud and Devon are such beautiful people and I the best time shooting with them, we ended the night with a full blown dance party! (sparklers included) ... I cannot wait for their wedding but for now, enjoy a few shots from their engagement session!
Laguna Beach Maternity
I cannot wait for this little girl to be born...talk about good genes! Molly and Nate are such beautiful people and we had a blast shooting these Maternity photos. We braved Laguna early in the AM to have the beach all to ourselves and sure enough, right as we were wrapping up, about 5 other photographers showed up to start taking family portraits. Early bird gets the private beach :)...enjoy the photos!

The De La Riva Ladies
I'm kind of obsessed with this family portrait session. The De La Riva ladies look absolutely stunning in their black dresses and the natural setting was perfect to contrast them. It was so fun shooting and getting hollered and honked at for most of the shoot, these ladies stopped traffic...LITERALLY!
San Francisco
The past few weeks have been monumental for me. I am happy to announce that I have finally left my day job and will be devoting myself FULL - TIME to my passion; photography. For the past year and a half I have stretched myself pretty thin working full time and pursing my photography career at every free moment I could grasp. I am so blessed to have such an incredible support team behind me. It's truly unbelievable what one can accomplish with a group of loved ones rooting them on. In celebration of my big career jump and my one year anniversary with my wonderful boyfriend, we took a mini vacation up to San Francisco and I must admit: I fell head over heels with this wonderful city.

Sunday Dinner...
Tonight I set out to make some spicy shrimp tacos, inspired by the lovely Lindsay on her fun blog From the Aisle to Aloha, not only were the tacos delicious, but we also had a pretty nice little sunset here in Long beach as well, check out the shots from my kitchen window!
(award for the coolest wine label around goes to Dearly Beloved, pictured below)
(sauce made with sour cream, chili powder, cumin, salt, lots of lime and a few extra goodies)
(Pretty nice lil' view from the kitchen!)
(popped outside to get a shot of the house, and this guy decided to be in the shot as well, thanks happy stranger man!)
(skype date on the front porch on a lovely Sunday evening, 12 more days till he comes to visit!)

Meet Monica:
This gorgeous and talented lady is a dear friend and INCREDIBLE make-up artist... We are working together to brand her business and launch her website, I wanted to wait to post the blog until her site was ready but I just couldn't wait to share the photos! Enjoy the shoot and I will post again once we launch her lovely site!
Sunsets part DUEX
Tonight's sunset was downright TRIPPY! I was in Riverside earlier in the day and the clouds were wispy and wonderful, I raced down to the beach only to find this thick, foggy marine layer and was severely disappointed to say the least! It seemed a little thin, and honestly a little eery so I decided to stick it out and see what happened... I'm SO glad I stayed because mother nature decided to do some funky stuff...enjoy!Shots will be available for purchase soon @ www.paigelowe.com
