Flower Crowns

I'm not sure that there is anything more fun than playing dress up for your wedding, especially when you have a super talented friend who wants to play as well!

Here's a fun (and affordable!) little project that the lovely Rachel (from Figgy Bakery) and I worked on a few weeks ago:

Supplies:

- Floral Tape - Floral Wire - Wire cutters - Pliers - An assortment of your favorite flowers (we used Mums, Asters, Purple Iris, Yellow Salidago and some greenery)

- Your favorite bottle of Red (get those creative juices flowing!)

Instructions:

Step one: Create a circle that fits comfortably around your head, that is accessible to remove and put back on whenever you would like. You can double up on the wire to make for a more sturdy base crown, or use just one; Either works.

Step two: Cut your first bloom and place it on your crown, in the desired location and direction you would like the flowers going. You can switch up the direction of flowers at any point, if you feel. Using roughly 3 inches of floral wire, use to wrap the bloom tightly around the wire crown to keep in place. You can use your hands or pliers to wrap the wire tight.

Step three: Take your floral tape, and wrap it around the bloom to cover the wire.

Step Four: Continue this same process with more blooms, layering around the wire crown until you form a solid crown of gorgeous flowers.

2012 wrap up

2012 has come and gone...?! Instead of throwing out a bunch of resolutions,  how about some top moments from this past year? I could list 5 million amazing things that have happened this year, but everyone has NYE parties to get to, so I'll stick with 5.

Starting off at Number F I V E we have:

NORTHWEST ROAD-TRIP:

It had been far to long since I'd been to this gorgeous part of the states and a road-trip with one of my best friends to see more best friends is a recipe for one hell of a good time! 2012 has brought a ton of new and wonderful people into my life, I'm so thankful to have a solid crew of friends who inspire me, everyday!

Up next at number FOUR:

This year, I started working for lululemon athletica! Not only are they an incredible company, but I have gotten to meet such wonderful people through their ambassador program. Working for lulu keeps me on toes and constantly forces me to think out of the box to produce beautiful, memorable images. If you live in the Southern California area and walk into any lululemon store in 2013, check out the photos blown up on the walls, chances are, I snapped em'!

N U M B E R 3:

Features, Features, Features!

It's been one hell of a year here at Paige Lowe Photography and it's nice to know that others recognize it as well! We've had several features and mentions from the top wedding critics out there. I am blessed to have met so many incredible couples, families and friends, and I will forever feel honored to be such a big part of a couples BIG DAY! I've crossed off many of my goals for 2012 and I can't wait to make 2013 the best year yet!

N U M B E R 2:

We adopted this little man about a month ago, and I have fallen head over heels in love! I urge anyone out there who is thinking of buying a pet to check out your local shelters first. I can't imagine my life without his sweet little face!

And finally, @ N U M B E R 1:

On June 19th, my best friend and the most wonderful person I've ever know, asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. And since he went to the trouble of doing it in iceland and all, I said yes.

Adios 2012, thanks for kicking so much ass.
